Privacy

Short version: the website stores your email address if you give it to us, and the desktop application stores nothing about you at all.

This website

  • Early access list. If you submit the form, we store the email address you typed and the date you submitted it. We use it for exactly one thing: telling you when the beta opens. We do not sell, rent or share it, and there is no newsletter attached to it. Ask us at info@ayaheditor.com and we will delete it.
  • No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies on this site.
  • Server logs. The web host keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) as part of running a web server. They are used for security and troubleshooting only.
  • Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers and Google sees that request. If you would rather it did not, the site is entirely readable with fonts blocked.

The desktop application

  • No account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
  • No telemetry. The application does not phone home, count launches or report usage.
  • Your files stay yours. Recitations, background footage and project files live on your machine. Rendering happens on your machine. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Offline by design. The Qur'anic text and translation ship inside the application, so it works with no internet connection at all.

Planned: publishing to social platforms

A planned feature will let you send a finished export to your own TikTok or YouTube account as a draft. When it ships it will be strictly opt-in and will work like this: you authorise the account yourself through the platform's own sign-in screen, the authorisation is stored securely on your machine, and the only thing sent is the video file you chose to send, at the moment you ask for it. If you never use the feature, nothing about it ever runs.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects anyone already on the early access list, we will say so in the one email we send.
